Casa de Ana provides rustic adobe style bungalows renovated from the
original Missionaries times housing. The
comfort is not allowed to spoil the ancient charm
of its construction and facilities. Bathrooms and
hot water are available, so is electricity from
dusk until 10:30 PM. We offer nature themed
activities both in the historic town of San Javier and its immediate
vicinity where agriculture, cattle and goat breeding was
introduced by the Jesuits. Visit on your
own the Mission and its Museum and the old Jesuit
vegetable gardens with olive trees more than 300 years old and a very old
irrigation system. The one restaurant in town near the Mission named "La Palapa" provides excellent local food. You can also experience eating your meals at Seņora Santana's HOME. You will find the old flavor of cooking in a wooden stove (hornilla), and looking at how she makes flower tortillas for you. There is no menu; you eat what ever the family eats that day. Seņora Santana does not charge for the food, you give her what ever you think is worth it. Also if you are looking for regional fruit candy she can sell them to you. Her home is behind Casa de Ana. |
